Lord Arthur Savile's Crime

A comedy by Constance Cox performed on 5th, 6th and 7th December 1963. The play was produced by Mr. J. R. Fisher.

In my view this production exceeded even Poundswick's normal high standard, primarily due to the fact that there were absolutely no weak links in the cast. In particular, John Hewitt as the suave but preoccupied Lord Arthur Savile, Peter Firth as Baines the obsequious butler and Harvey Broadbent as the bomb-wielding anarchist Herr Winkelkopf, all played their characters with superb precision. In the years since being involved with Poundswick's production of this play I have seen it performed several times by other companies but never to the same standard ....... but then I suppose I could be just a little biased!
